Right of Entry (ROE)

Which Passport to use for my kid below 21 years old? They are part of my Singapore citizenship application. They can hold 2 passports at the same time, both Malaysia and Singapore. When they reach 21 years old, they need to renounce the Malaysia citizenship and officially take the oath to become a Singaporean (Or otherwise, if he/she prefer to become a Malaysian instead, he/she does not need to do anything, Singapore will revoke his/her rights after the deadline given, by the age of 22 years old).

If you prefer your kid to use the Malaysia Passport for now (either to save money or the convenience of entry into Malaysia), you need to get a Right of Entry (ROE) endorsement at ICA. You can do it along with your Singapore citizenship registration.

Fill up a form, ICA will stamp the ROE on the kid's Malaysia passport, on the last page.

The ROE is valid till the year he/she reaches 21 years old. However, you need to stamp it again if the kid got a new Malaysia passport.

Note: If the kid uses his/her Singapore passport to exit Singapore, he/she needs to present the Singapore passport upon returning to Singapore. If the kid uses his/her Malaysia passport to exit Singapore, he/she needs to present the Malaysia passport upon returning to Singapore.
